A Phone Concierge for Families: What It Changes

You are not avoiding people. You are avoiding being interrupted by strangers while the people who matter still reach you.

For a family phone, the requirement is specific: a short list of people must always get through, and everyone else can wait. Priority callers cover the first. The concierge covers the second by asking who is calling and why, so an unknown number becomes a message rather than a dinner interruption.

The list is short and it matters

Most families can name their priority callers in under a minute: a partner, a school, a doctor, a parent, maybe a neighbour. That short list is doing most of the work. Everything else is noise you have been absorbing because there was no way to sort it without missing something.

An example

Dinner, 6:40pm. The school nurse rings and comes straight through. Ninety seconds later an unknown number calls about a warranty; it meets the concierge, does not stay on the line, and is Handled. The phone rang once that evening, for the reason it should have.
